The sommelier info

Veuve Clicquot is hitting hard, not only with a new limited edition featuring the work of a renowned artist, but also with an exceptional new vintage dominated by Pinot Noir. 2015 was a warm year in Champagne, which now gives us full-bodied wines with ripe fruit aromas. A blend of 8 Grands Crus, La Grande Dame 2015 is seductive with notes of honeysuckle, vine flower and jasmine before opening up to deliciously fruity peaches, apples and pears. The aromatic bouquet is complete with hints of frangipane.

On the palate, it promises great emotion, with complexity that sounds like honey, hazelnuts and dried apricots... The silky texture continues to delight, enveloping the palate like a caress for a journey full of elegance and depth.

The domain

The Veuve Clicquot champagne house, founded in 1772 in Reims by Philippe Clicquot, is one of the most prestigious in the world. Its name is closely linked to Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, widowed at just 27. She took over the reins of the company in 1805, developing revolutionary techniques. Under her leadership, the house gained international renown, notably for its famous Brut Carte Jaune and its emblematic cuvée, La Grande Dame. Today, Veuve Clicquot continues to embody excellence and innovation in the world of champagne.
