The domain
The Château d’Esclans estate, with a surface area of 270 hectares, is located in the La Motte district of Cannes, not far from Saint-Tropez (including 45 hectares of vineyards). Go back in time to the Gallic era and discover the fascinating history of this vineyard. Strategically placed, it can keep an eye on the enemy when he is preparing to launch an attack on the golf of Fréjus. The current castle was built in the 19th century and sold in the 18th; the property has changed hands several times since then. After this period, people were free to use the term "Terre d’Esclans". Sacha Lichine bought the business in 2006 before Moet Hennessy acquired it in 2019. Sacha Lichine has state-of-the-art winemaking facilities and a team of winemaking experts to help create premium reds, whites and rosés that age gracefully in oak barrels. Renowned oenologist Patrick Léon collaborated on the creation of Château d’Esclans Les Clans and Garrus wines. In addition, Esclans attributes the worldwide success of the world’s most expensive pink wine, Garrus, to its own hands (at least when it was released). Legendary in their native Provence, both Rock Angel and Whispering Angel were born in the Caves of Esclans. The Rock Angel Magnum is an absolute must; you’ll know it’s top-notch even before you pour a glass.
