The domain

Chateau d’Esclans is located in the commune of La Motte between Cannes and Saint-Tropez and covers 270 hectares, including 45 hectares of vineyards. Remember the Gallic period to know the history of this wine property. It was strategically placed to monitor the movements of the enemy before the attack on the Gulf of Frejus. The property has changed ownership several times over the years, and the current château was built in the 19th century before being sold in 1875. It was called Terre d’Esclans at the time. Sacha Lichine became the owner in 2006 and continued to operate it even after it was bought by the Mot Hennessy group in 2019. Sacha Lichine has surrounded himself with top-notch tools and industry professionals to produce luxurious rosé wines in the same way as great white wines, which require several years of aging in oak barrels. For example, renowned oenologist Patrick Leon helped create Château d’Esclans, Les Clans and Garrus. In addition, Esclans owes its worldwide fame to the making of Garrus, the most expensive rosé wine of all time (at least when it was released).
