Château de Crémat Rouge combines 75% Folle Noire and 25% Grenache, organically grown on Bellet’s distinctive stony clay-siliceous-limestone “poudingue” soils. Following three weeks of maceration, 12 months of oak ageing shape a generous palate of ripe wild berries, sweet spices and subtle smoky nuances, supported by balanced tannins. With an indicated ageing potential of 10 to 15 years, this distinctive Nice red has the depth to develop beautifully in the cellar.
The sommelier info
The nose displays lovely complexity centered on white peach and clementine, accompanied by salty and delicately toasty nuances. Aging enriches the aromatic expression without overshadowing the Rolle’s fruity character.
White-fleshed fruits blend with floral and citrus notes on a full-bodied yet fresh palate, supported by a lingering mineral quality. The finish retains plenty of energy and hints at the wine’s aging potential.
This wine is served with
Château de Crémat Rouge pairs beautifully with thyme-grilled Iberian pork pluma, roast rack of lamb, Niçoise stuffed vegetables, pigeon with olives or wild boar stew; serve at around 16-17°C and allow approximately one hour of aeration to reveal its dark fruit and spice.
