The domain
Domaine de la Rose des Vents, established at the beginning of the 20th century, has been passed down from generation to generation. Today, Gilles Baude and Thierry Josselin run the estate.
Located in La Roquebrussanne, in the Var region, Domaine de la Rose des Vents is a family estate founded in 1947. The vineyard covers approximately 40 hectares on a clay-limestone plateau at an altitude of nearly 360 metres. This high altitude, combined with a Provençal climate characterised by cooler nights, promotes gradual ripening of the grapes and contributes to the freshness and balance of the wines of the AOP Coteaux Varois en Provence appellation.
Located in the heart of the Coteaux Varois appellation, Domaine Rose des Vents showcases this appellation. No, the Coteaux Varois appellation is not a ‘sub-appellation’ of Côtes de Provence, but has its own distinct geographical boundaries. The appellation is smaller and is located mainly in the north-west of the Var.
The wine estate is run organically and has been AB certified since the 2018 vintage. Cultivation practices are geared towards respecting the soil, biodiversity and the natural balance of the vines. Plot-by-plot work, yield control and precise monitoring of ripeness help to preserve the expression of the terroir. Each stage, from the vineyard to the winemaking process, is carried out with rigour in order to produce wines that are faithful to their origins.
Domaine de la Rose des Vents produces a complete range of AOP Coteaux Varois en Provence wines. The rosés are distinguished by their pale colour, freshness and aromas of fresh fruit. The whites offer liveliness and tension, often marked by citrus notes and a clean finish. The reds have a balanced structure, with supple tannins and aromas of red fruit and spices. The entire production reflects the identity of the Var terroir and the estate's family expertise.
The wine estate has made a name for itself with its fresh and fruity Rosés de Provence. La Rose des Vents Rosé in Coteaux Varois is dynamic, fresh, charming and aromatic. ‘Rose des Vents rosé’ and ‘Seigneur de Broussan rosé’ vintages offer excellent value for money.
