Domaine

In 1958, the Sumeire family acquires the domaine situated to Pierrefeu in the Var. Previously, residence of the bishops of Toulon, this domaine possesses two names: Château la Tour de l'Eveque and Chateau la Tour Saint Anne. Today, it is Régine Sumeire who manages the domaine in the continuity of the family work. Château la Tour l'Evêque produces the famous vintage Petale de Rose, excellent rosé wine of Provence!
The philosophy of Domaine de La Tour l'Eveque is the result of a long-standing family tradition, qualitative and organic. Winemaking is based on respect for the terroir and the biodiversity that exists at Regine Sumeire's domaine. Since 2005, La Tour de l Eveque is operated in organic, without weeders or chemicals. The soil is worked without herbicides and with tillage, with the help of infusions and other biodynamic methods. At Château la Tour de l eveque, the harvest is done manually and the sorting is careful in order to get the best out of it.
The vineyard, of 89 ha, possesses vines with a mean age of 20 years. Syrah, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cinsault offer the red wine. As for the whites, they arise from Rolle, Sémillon and Ugni Blanc. Since 2005, these vines are exploited in a biological way.

Régine Sumeire has been managing Château Barbeyrolles since 1977, which had been headed by his father, Roger Sumeire for a long time. Passionated by vine, the learn the most of she knows today with her father and her grandfather and keep going to perpetuate the traditions of the family domaine.
