The domain

Château d’Esclans covers 270 hectares, including 45 hectares of vineyards, and is located in the commune of La Motte between Cannes and Saint-Tropez. Remember the Gallic period to know the history of this wine property. It was located in a strategic place to observe the movements of the enemy before the assault on the Gulf of Frejus. The property changed hands several times over the centuries, and the current château was built in the 19th century before being sold in 1875. At the time, it was known as Terre d’Esclans. Sacha Lichine became the owner in 2006 and has continued to run it despite its purchase by the Mot Hennessy group in 2019. Sacha Lichine has surrounded himself with state-of-the-art equipment and the best experts to create luxurious rosé wines in the same way as great white wines, which require several years of aging in oak. For example, renowned oenologist Patrick Leon helped create Château d’Esclans, Les Clans and Garrus. In addition, Esclans owes its international reputation to the creation of Garrus, the most expensive rosé wine of all time (at least when it was released). Don’t forget the famous Whispering Angel and Rock Angel wines from the Esclans Caves, two icons of Provence rosé wine.
