Château de Jasson is a historic vineyard of 16 Hectares in La Londe. The vineyard benefits from a specific Mediterranean climate thanks to its location between the Moors and the sea. Domaine du Jasson takes root on soils of schistose and clay-limestone types, giving it an exceptional terroir.
The Greeks started growing the vineyards of Chateau de Jasson very early: six centuries before Jesus Christ. The origin of the name Jasson appears only in the Middle Ages, coming from “Jas” which represented the meeting space of the shepherds before leaving in transhumance. Today it is Benjamin Defresne, his family and his son-in-law who work to create wines of great finesse with fruity aromas and gourmet flavours. Domaine du Jasson has remained a family exploitation since 1990, since all members are passionate about viticulture. In fact, the Defresne family has always been immersed in vine cultivation since the 1200s.
Domaine de Jasson raises a range of grape varieties that allows them to develop typical and rare wines. Entirely in AOC Côtes de Provence appellation, Jasson grows both Tibouren and Cinsault, but also Rolle, Sémillon or Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines of Chateau de Jasson are proposed in all three colours thanks to a culture based on the reasoned wine-growing process: this means that they don't hesitate to cut and harvest green during the month of July. Picking is done by hand and ploughing rather than using herbicides and organic fertilisers.
Domaine du Jasson in La Londe-Les-Maures produces several wines including Jeanne white wine, Eléonore rosé wine and Victoria red wine. It also benefits from the Artisan Vigneron de France label and the HVE (High Environmental Value) certification level 3. Chateau de Jasson's wines have received more than 200 awards in 25 years as aromatic, fruity, silky and supple on the palate. If traditions are very important for Chateau de Jasson, once combined with modern know-how and state-of-the-art oenological techniques, they make it possible to propose highly qualitative products that meet the requirements of everyone.
