The sommelier info
The fine nose of Bel-Arme White is seductive, with notes of white flowers and lemon. We plunge into the heart of the best of the Cassis terroir, with a complex, structured palate followed by an iodized finish. Elegant smoky notes add pep and consolidate the marine depth on the finish. Clos Sainte Magdeleine has cut this cuvée specifically for ageing, and it will express its full potential after 6-7 years in the cellar.
Bel-Arme comes from a meticulous selection of 50-year-old vines planted in limestone terraces on the slopes of Cap Canaille, offering a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean. The wine is aged for several months in ovoid concrete vats on fine lees, adding body and roundness. The wine is then bottled without fining or filtration.

The domain
Clos Sainte Magdeleine is a magnificent Cassis wine estate that stretches over twenty hectares. The vine has been present at Clos St Magdeleine since the XIIth century, so it is a must in Provence!
CLOS SAINTE MAGDELEINE: A UNIQUE HISTORY AND SITUATION
The situation of Clos Saint Magdeleine is just unique! On the slopes of Cape Canaille, overlooking the bay of blackcurrant with a breathtaking view, Domaine Sainte Magdeleine is planted in restanques facing the sea... The Clos St Magdeleine belongs to the Zafiropulo family since 1920. For four generations, the Zafiropulo, a family of Greek industrialists, have developed the most famous Cassis white wines. After Costia Zafiropulo (until 1975), her daughter Georgina helped her husband François Sack (until 2010), Jonathan SACK, now ensures the continuity of the estate.
A GREAT TERROIR THAT MADE THE FAME OF CLOS ST MAGDELEINE
Clos Sainte Magdeleine Cassis is distinguished by its immediate proximity to the sea, its terroir consists mainly of sandy marnes and sandstone. These are soils suitable for viticulture and especially for the production of great white wines from Provence. Cassis wines from Clos Saint Magdeleine are organically grown, leaving room for the saline and mineral footprint of cultivated soils. The vinifications and farms then take place in underground cellars dating from the 19th century, thanks to last generation equipment. Indeed, the wines of Clos St Magdeleine are the fruit of several long-term farming techniques and respect for traditions, as far as winemaking is concerned.
CLOS SAINTE MAGDELEINE WINES
Thanks to this exceptional geographical location, the white and rosé wines of Cassis from Clos St Magdeleine have enjoyed an undeniable maritime influence. Sainte Magdeleine wines have a beautiful salinity with a lot of minerality and freshness. The Domaine Sainte Magdeleine also produces the cuvée Bel-Arme high on lees and concrete tanks, as well as several cuvées high in sandstone jars. To drink now or to keep a few years in the cellar, the philosophy of Clos makes it possible to propose wines that can survive the time, while enjoying themselves perfectly in their youth.
