The domain

Between Cannes and Saint-Tropez, in the commune of La Motte, lies the 270-hectare estate called Le Château d’Esclans (of which 45 hectares are vineyards). Go back in time to the Gallic era and discover the fascinating history of this vineyard. Strategically placed, it observes the enemy who is preparing to launch an attack on the golf of Fréjus. The current castle was built in the 19th century and sold in 1875; the property has changed hands several times since then. The expression "Terre d’Esclans" was then used freely. Prior to its purchase by Moët Hennessy in 2019, Sacha Lichine bought the business in 2006. Sacha Lichine has state-of-the-art winemaking facilities and a team of winemaking experts to help him craft premium reds, whites and rosés that age gracefully in oak barrels. For example, Château d’Esclans’ wines, Les Clans and Garrus, were co-created by renowned oenologist Patrick Léon. In addition, Esclans credits the creation of Garrus, the most expensive rosé wine in the world, with worldwide recognition (at least when it was released). Legendary in their native Provence, the Rock Angel and Whispering Angel were both born in the Esclans cellars. Before you even pour a glass of this Provence rosé, you’ll know it’s top-notch: the Garrus Magnum is a must-have.
