The domain

Chateau Ste Marguerite stretches 168 ha in a property. Located opposite the sea, Domaine en Cru Classé Côtes de Provence is located in the commune of La Londe Les Maures. Created in 1929 by André Chevillon, a concertist, Château Sainte Marguerite is located on a vineyard cultivated since ancient times.

LES CUVEES ST MARGUERITE OF THE FAYARD FAMILY

Having had a favorite for Château Sainte Marguerite in 1977, Brigitte and Jean Pierre Fayard with their children and beautiful children continue this work of excellence by producing wines known and recognised by all. The Chateau Sainte Marguerite rosé concerned 65 % of the production, 20 % red and 15 % white with the ancient cuvée Chateau Sainte Marguerite rose, white and red, Chateau Sainte Marguerite Symphonie rosé, white and red and Fantastique rosé and red. The Fayard family also owns Chateau Hermitage Saint Martin, a family adventure always guided by the passion of the vine.

A RECENT PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN SAINTE MARGUERITE AND PERNOD RICARD

The adventure between the Ricard and Fayard families began in 2021. The shares of the parents and one of the Fayard children were bought by the Marseille giant, while the other three children kept theirs. Indeed, the Maison Sainte Marguerite is not abandoned, far from it. However, some changes are necessary: the Château cuvée will no longer be distributed and the emphasis is on the Symphonie rosé and Fantastique cuvées in the 3 colors. Fantastique is still made from the property’s own plots, while Symphonie is now part of the Provençal company’s trade and is made from some of the neighboring plots of Château Sainte Marguerite.

SAINT MARGUERITE WINE: COASTS OF PROVENCE LA LONDE

In 2008, Chateau St Marguerite obtained the complementary Geographic designation AOP Côtes de Provence La Londe, a village on the coast of Varois and winemaking since the dawn of time. This DGC is a kind of “Super Appellation” attributed to the Domaines benefiting from a well-defined terroir including the Domaine Sainte Marguerite. Côtes de Provence La Londe is attributed to the terroir where the rock outflows. 4 types of soil, all marked by the phyllades (schist hardened by metamorphism in leaflets close to the slate) can claim this designation of Terroir: this explains the quality of Saint Marguerite wine.

CHATEAU SAINTE MARGUERITE ORGANIC AND VEGAN

Sainte Marguerite wine comes from organic farming, labeled Ecocert since 2003. Domaine Sainte Marguerite also has the Vegan wine label since 2015, guaranteed without inputs of animal origin. Sainte Marguerite in La Londe was one of the precursors in the production of Vegan wines.
