The sommelier info

During the production of the Première cuvée, the Syrah is harvested over-ripened so that the Mourvèdre, later grape variety, is also ripe. The harvest is collective but the vinification is done separately. Concerning the ageing, it lasts from 6 to 8 months in French oak barrels.

The domain

Domaine Figuière, a family property located in La Londe-les-Maures, has 125 hectares in the Côtes de Provence appellation. The Combard family bought this emblematic property of Provence in 1992. The family has always been winemakers and Burgundians. The property is presided over by Alain Combard, who has long recognized the potential of his coastal land. Alain then taught his three children the traditions of the estate. Since the 1980s, the Figuière vineyard has been farmed organically, and significant efforts have been made to preserve the vineyard, notably by banning chemical herbicides. The objective of this family has always been to create wines based on the terroir. Other lines allow you to discover the different facets of the winery, including the Signature line, which emphasizes simplicity and freshness, and the Première line, which is already more focused on meals and wine and food pairings. Finally, the Confidentielle line offers premium wines with exceptional depth and complexity. Cuvée Première is a must-have, a red wine you can’t argue with!
