The domain

Domaine Lafran Veyrolles, located at the Cadière d’Azur, is classified in the AOC Bandol area. Bandol Lafran Veyrolles wines were among the first Bandol wines.

DOMAINE LAFRAN VEYROLLES, A FAMILY HERITAGE

Domaine Lafran Veyrolles comes to the origin of the word “Rovayrola” which in 1405 designated an area planted with reopened oaks in a district of the Cadière d’Azur. Devenue “Vayrole” then the name as we know it today, Lafran Veyrolles takes its origins in the 17th century, while the area belonged to Melchion Lafran. In 1917 his great-grandfather, Romain Ventre, donated Lafran Veyrolles to his granddaughter. Her husband Louis Ferec undertook to expand and renovate the estate in 1929. Today, the Ferec-Jouve family operates the Lafran Veyrolles vineyard of 10 ha.

LAFRAN VEYROLLES BANDOL, A UNIQUE TERROIR

Domaine Lafran Veyrolles benefits from clay-lime soil. During the summer, it keeps moisture thanks to clay and allows you to stay a minimum hydrated. The 10 hectares of Lafran Veyrolles are distributed as follows: 6 ha of Mourvèdre, 2 ha Clairette, Ugni Blanc and Carignan, 1 ha of Grenache and 1 ha of Cinsault. With regard to tillage, the harvest is green and no chemical weed remover is used in Lafran Veyrolles, only sulphur and copper fight against possible diseases, only when the need arises. The wines of Domaine Lafran Veyrolles are wines from the culture of organic wine.

BANDOL LAFRAN VEYROLLES, OUTSTANDING WINES

Domaine Lafran-Veyrolles now produces 10 % white, 40 % rosé and 50 % red, which are the lords of the raw grown in oak barrels, with two distinct Lafran Veyrolles cuvées: the Cuvée Tradition, which has a custody potential ranging from 2 to 8 years and the Special Cuvée, needing to age longer (up to 15 years). The Lafran Veyrolles Bandol rosé is rather generous and carried on the notes of orange marmalade while the reds are dense, tanic and spicy. The white Bandol Lafran Veyrolles is well balanced and ideal to enjoy during the summer.
